About the Collection

The Empower Survivor Justice Collection is part of the Survivors Who Are Criminalized project of the New York State Coalition Against Domestic Violence (NYSCADV), funded by the New York State Division of Criminal Justice. Our mission is to support survivors of domestic violence who have been criminalized by providing crucial resources and tools to reduce barriers and enhance access to services.

This site is a central hub for information specifically designed for advocates, attorneys, legal service providers, survivors, and their support networks within New York State. Here, you will find tailored resources to help navigate the complex intersections of domestic violence and the criminal justice system, focusing on minimizing re-traumatization, improving service delivery, and facilitating successful reentry into communities.

While some of the content may be useful beyond New York, this platform is designed to align with New York State’s laws and regulations.
